It is that part of the year when we start seeing all big brands like Samsung, LG, Google and Apple come out and show us their next big phone! As we have already seen almost all of the big brands are done with their big-fat flagship launches, it’s now Google turn to showcase their offering! The most anticipated next gen Pixel phones(Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL) are nearing the launch date. Though Google is yet to send out the official invites to the event, a Billboard in Boston apparently says more. “Ask more of your phone” on October 4.

Well, we could have totally ignored this billboard it had something related and for Boston alone. But the billboard speaks specifically about “your phone” and the date mentioned matches with last year’s launch date of Pixel phones. Not as difficult as da Vinci code right?

What to Expect Inside Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL?

As per the reports and rumors, the Pixel 2 is being manufactured by last year’s Pixel and Pixel XL manufacturer, HTC! It is expected to carry smaller 5-inch display with full HD resolution. Under the hood, we are expected to see Snapdragon 835 SoC, 4GB of RAM and 64GB onboard storage to start with. So no 32GB variant but we might as well see another variant of Pixel 2 that will have 64GB of storage along with an option for expansion upto 128GB via MicroSD.

In terms of the camera, it is rumored to carry 12MP sensor but is expected to feature EIS instead of OIS. The device is expected to launch with Android Oreo 8.1 out of the box with the AI power Google Lens pre-installed.

With respect to Pixel 2 XL, the latest rumor claims that it is made by LG and will resemble their latest offering LG V30. So, at last, we will see a Pixel phone matching with 2017 standards and yes, those huge bezels will going away. Specifications wise, the phone will feature the same set of hardware as of Pixel 2. Both the devices are expected to come with IP68 thus making them water resistant.

It will be interesting to see what latest version of Pixel has in store for us. So, if the billboard is speaking of Pixel 2 and Pixel XL, October 4 is the date you should make in your calendar!
