Is this the Upcoming Smartwatch, Asus Zenwatch 3?

Update: Images have been removed on the request received from certification body of Taiwan.

While Asus has had a great start to the year with Zenfone 3 launches, they aren’t shying away from the wearable industry after all. The company has a fair bit of their luck with Zenwatch series of smartwatches. However, it looks like we are going to see the third iteration of a smartwatch from the company called Asus Zenwatch 3 this year at IFA.

There has been a lot of buzz around the wearables industry lately. Many companies have started to explore the arena and have already some offerings in the market. Be it a standard smartwatch like Huawei Watch or a sports watch like Polar M600 or a Modular smartwatch from Blocks, everyone seems to be falling under the wearables bucket. We do have some affordable smartbands in the market as well.

Well, Asus Zenwatch 3 Shows Itself in Leaked Images

First of all, take this news with a grain of salt. As it is still a leaked image and there is no source about the authenticity of the same.

As per the leaked images of Asus ZenWatch 3, the device seems to have borrowed design principles of Moto 360. It features a round outlook. We can see a magnetic ring charger that attaches to the back of the device. So typical micro or Type-C USB charger? But the leak points at having a support for 5V/2A charging.

There is also a three buttons that raises questions about whether this is indeed a smartwatch or not. But Asus might have actually implemented some dedicated task to these buttons. It comes with detachable straps.

The Asus ZenWatch 3 visited FCC filing recently that also confirms about featuring a round design. It will have Bluetooth 4.2 and WiFi connectivities. Also, without any questions, it will run on the Android Wear operating system. We should see whether it will come with a Wear 2.0 out of the box.
